Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 26, 2026
Last updated: July 26, 2026
PageShift AI converts a user-selected webpage section or full webpage into an editable Elementor-compatible layout. This policy explains what data the Chrome extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.
Data the extension accesses
Website content and page resources
PageShift AI reads the structure, visible text, styles, responsive CSS, effects, and public resource URLs of the current webpage only after the user clicks the PageShift AI toolbar button and starts a capture. This access is required to create the requested Elementor layout.
Page content is processed locally in the user's browser. Captured page content and generated Elementor layout data are not sent to PageShift AI, Gumroad, advertising networks, analytics providers, or other third parties by the extension. The generated layout is written to the user's clipboard.
Current tab and frame information
After the user clicks the toolbar button, the extension temporarily reads the current tab URL and accessible frame URLs to determine where to open the capture interface. This information is used only during that user-initiated operation and is not stored or transmitted.
Gumroad license key
When a user chooses to activate PageShift Pro, the entered license key and PageShift AI product identifier are sent directly to Gumroad over HTTPS for verification. The extension does not store the raw license key after verification and does not store the customer email returned by Gumroad.
Gumroad processes this request under its own privacy policy and terms.
Locally stored extension data
The extension stores only:
The aggregate number of successful free captures.
Whether a valid license was activated.
License activation and verification timestamps.
The extension does not store captured URLs, page titles, page content, generated layouts, capture timestamps, browsing history, or the raw Gumroad license key.
Chrome permissions
activeTab: Provides temporary access to the current webpage after the user clicks the extension.
scripting: Injects the capture interface and conversion engine into the user-selected tab.
debugger: Temporarily emulates tablet and mobile viewport dimensions to capture responsive styles. The debugger is detached after responsive capture, restoration, failure, or tab closure.
clipboardWrite: Writes the generated Elementor layout to the clipboard. The extension does not read clipboard contents.
storage: Stores the aggregate free-capture count and minimal license status described above.
Host access to
api.gumroad.com: Used only when the user submits a Gumroad license key for activation.
Data sharing and sale
PageShift AI does not sell user data. It does not use user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes. The extension does not include analytics or advertising SDKs.
The only external transmission initiated by the extension is the user-requested license verification request sent directly to Gumroad.
Data retention and deletion
Captured website content and generated layout data are not retained by the extension. Locally stored usage and license-status data remain until the user clears the extension's site data or uninstalls the extension. A user can remove the locally stored license status from the extension's license screen.
Security
License verification uses HTTPS. The extension minimizes persistent data and does not persist the raw license key or Gumroad customer email.
Limited Use
PageShift AI's use of information is limited to providing and improving the extension's single, user-facing purpose. The use of information received from Chrome and related browser APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes to this policy
Material changes to data handling will be disclosed before the changed practices begin, and this policy's updated date will be revised.
